SchoolSpace ("we", "our", or "us") is a school management platform that helps educational institutions manage students, teachers, parents, attendance, marks, and notices. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our web application and Android app.

We collect the following information when you register and use SchoolSpace:

• Account information: Name, username, phone number, and password (encrypted)
• Role information: Whether you are an admin, teacher, parent, or student
• School information: The school you are associated with
• Usage data: Attendance records, marks, class assignments, and notices posted within the platform

We do not collect payment card details, location data, or device identifiers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the SchoolSpace platform
• To allow school admins to manage students, teachers, and parents
• To display attendance, marks, and notices to the relevant users
• To authenticate users securely via encrypted tokens
• To improve the platform based on usage patterns

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared within your school's account — for example, a teacher can see the students in their class, and a parent can see their own child's data.

We use Neon (PostgreSQL) for database storage and Vercel for hosting. Both are industry-standard providers with their own security and privacy practices.

5. Data Security

• Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are hashed using HMAC-SHA256 with a unique salt
• Authentication uses secure httpOnly cookies that cannot be accessed by JavaScript
• All data is transmitted over HTTPS
• Each school's data is fully isolated — users can only access their own school's data

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your school account is active on SchoolSpace. School admins can delete student, teacher, and parent records at any time from their dashboard. If you wish to delete your account entirely, contact us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

SchoolSpace is used by educational institutions and may contain records of students who are minors. Student data is only entered and managed by school administrators and teachers. Parents can only view their own child's data. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Contact your school admin to update your profile information
